[ Working Currently: Working  ]

Aachen
Well I finished off last season with some good results. We won 3 or 4 games, lost 1 and drew another 3 or so. We ended up 5th in the league after being 10th when I came into the side. On a positive note we played my old team Oberhausen and won the game and knocked them out of promotion contention!

In the off season I put wheeling and dealing skills to work and picked up 6 new players. 2 strikers, 1 midfielder, 1 defensive midfielder and 2 defensive backs. With my current tactics I use 3 strikers and the 2 new strikers should create a lot more chances up front. I also sold a few ageing players and some trouble makers that I just didnt like.

The new season is just underway and I have taken a risk and brought up a 17 year old out of my youth system who has the potential to be a star player in the future. Hopefully he will make an impact for the side. He is currently being mentored by the best midfielder in the squad who he will playing alongside each week so the chances are he will succeed.

We are predicted to finish 3rd this season but I reckon we can win the whole fucking thing this year.

Italy
Only 3 games played in the last 4 months. A 6-0 win over the Faroe Islands in world cup qualifying and a 2-2 draw with Sweden still sees us tied for first place but with 25 goals for us and 2 goals conceded. We also had a friendly against Spain which we won 2-0.

[ Working Apparently... Currently: Working Apparently... ]

I have decided to do like ICM and chronicle my adventures in a game. My game of choice is Football Manager 2010 (or worldwide soccer manager 2010 for those American inclined)

The Backstory.
Club management.
I am already well into this game of FM10 and my history as a manager has been... well interesting. I started the game as the manager of Arsenal. I started my first season with a series of average results and then picked up some good results late in the year to finish 4th in the league and qualify for European competition. When the second year rolled around things started off very average again and during this time I was also appointed manager of Italy after they didnt even make the finals of the World Cup. (More on Italy later) So half way through the english season while sitting in a disappointing mid table position I was fired from Arsenal.

I spent a few months just holidaying around and managing Italy. I eventually got a job offer from a German second division side called Oberhausen. What a great fucking name I thought, I cant pass that up. So I took the job and what a fuck up that was. The side were predicted to be relegated from the league and the talent they had was awful. So I went looking for some new players but then realised I didnt have any money to buy anyone. 3 months after joining I resigned.

Another few months of non club management I got an offer from Birmingham. This was their second season out of the premier league and they wanted to get back their. So I took over and saw out the end of season with a run of good results and just missed out on promotion that year. The next year began with a form slump and eventually I resigned from that position due to a lack of interest on my part.

The next club was Portsmouth. They had just been relegated from the premier league the year before and were getting their asses handed to them in the coca cola league (same league as Birmingham). They hired me mid season with the expectation of them returning to the premier league next year. 3 weeks in I get a notice that the club couldnt pay the players and that all my transfer money (Which I had earnt from selling some players) was being used to pay the players therefore I couldnt buy any new players. 2 weeks after that the chariman announces that he wants to leave the club and is looking for a buyer. Guess what? Thats right, I resigned.

Now I sit as the manager of German second division side Aachen with a reasonable group of players and no money. The plan is to get them back to the First division and start to build a championship winning side with young German players.

Unless I get fired.

Italy
At the time there was 2 international management jobs available, Italy and Brazil. Both teams had done terrible in the virtual FM10 world cup and not even reached the round of 16. I decided to apply for Italy because Brazil are a bunch of cunts. I didnt think I would get the job but I applied anyway. I was hired that year and was told I was expected the European Cup (UEFA cup) with ease.

During the friendlies leading up to the qualifying phase I took the opportunity to bring in some of the younger Italian players who had not made international debuts and push out some of the old bastards. I upset alot of people and fans with this tactic but it ended up working well as we qualified with ease winning all but 1 game which was a draw and not conceding any goals at all. Currently I am preparing for UEFA cup and am also in the middle of world cup qualifying which should pose no problems.
